How will you be an effective team member in your car group, activity group and cabin group? Listening to instructions and cooperating without arguing or making a fuss

What will we see or hear? We will see lots of people working together and cooperating and having a good time.

Man Smuggles 600000 eels  into a Plane

On March the 9th 2017 a man in Heathrow decided to try and smuggle 600000 live endangered glass eels into Hong Kong via plane. The man's secret stash of eels was found under a pile of fish that was on it's way to Hong Kong, these eels are a delicacy in Asia, and the total weight of the eels (200kg) would've had a value of up to 2.1 million dollars on the black market. 

I am glad that the border security arrested the man because otherwise he would've sold the eels and got away with further endangering the species. 

I wonder why people like to eat those eels when they could eat any type of other eel.

The HoloLens

The Microsoft HoloLens.

Just last year a group from Microsoft made the Microsoft HoloLens, a pair of “glasses” that enable you to project holograms onto the walls and in the air, that only you can see. They are commercially available this year and are priced at around about $4700 and from what I have heard the money is well worth it. With the HoloLens you can do anything from conduct business meetings to playing video games to watching the rugby all using holograms projected onto the walls, if you don’t like the look of your house then you can simply make it so that it could look like a cottage or a mansion. There is much more that you can do but this blog would be thousands of words long I have barely scratched the surface of what this little gadget can do, there is so much more. And to think you can do all of this with the power of one little pair of glasses.

Last week at school we got to choose a subject about what we are interested in, I chose to learn about what gaming will be like in the future. With technology getting better and better every day this will be implemented into everyday life, especially gaming. I like gaming so I am quite interested to know what gaming will be like, I hope to know what this technology will be like and how it will affect everyday life, and to find out I will be researching using different websites for information. This endeavour will help me find out what technology will be like and will help with my social skills as I will be sharing my research with my group.

I have recently started Ngatea Primary School and I have got a very very good impression of this school, it has a positive view towards learning and has a good learning system in place. They are kind and they are good at introducing new students to classrooms, I already feel like I have been at this school all my life. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and can't wait for school each morning

Tuakana-Teina

Teina to Tuakana

Last week we did a self assessment and put ourselves into one of three categories Teina, Tupu or Tuakana. Teina means beginner and if you put yourself into it then you are beginning to manage yourself and learn effectively. Tupu is in the middle, if you are Tupu then you are learning to make better choices and are more responsible than in Teina. If you are Tuakana then you are responsible and can learn very effectively by yourself and in other groups and get special privileges. I put myself in Tupu because I want to make some progress and learn to be Tuakana instead of putting myself straight up there.

A treaty is an form or a contract between two people to have an agreement on one thing, examples of contracts are when you sign one to be cyber safe or an agreement to the terms and conditions on a website. There are some that you can agree on a common goal and some for sports teams in which you sign to say you will co-operate and work in your team without causing fuss or arguing. Others are like the treaty of Waitangi where two sides agree on fair treatment or on an area of land.       

My multiple intelligences.

We did a Multiple Intelligence test to see what our  intelligences were mine turned out to be a high percent Linguistic, Logical-Mathematical and Visual-Spatial. 
It came out linguistic because I am good at reading and using varying words and sentences.  It came out Logical-Mathematical because I can understand complex problems and questions.  It came out Visual-Spatial because I can visualise and modify things in my mind.
