This week I feel like I have got a lot done, I have got all of the usual stuff done like mangahigh and read theory but I also did some others. I got my art finished, which didn’t turn out as well as I hoped, but still, I got it done. I also got my IE done! YAAAAY! I have worked really hard on this and I am glad that it’s finished! I am really nervous about sharing though because I think my stop-motion is a bit under what I wanted. Overall though I am happy with my week and I want to continue doing well. Beginning of term
New Term
This is term 4, I am quite excited, but there is a lot of work to get done. There are only 8 weeks left in this term, two of which have already passed. I feel slightly nervous for a few reasons. One, IEs I really want to get mine done. Two, College. I feel nervous about going and there are only 6 weeks of primary school left. Three, I need to work harder. I feel like this first two weeks I haven’t been working hard enough, which is true. Even this blog post has been posted late. This term I am setting new goals, I am going to work harder and try and get every bit of work done to my highest standard because I now have realised that ‘just enough’ isn’t enough, I need to work above and beyond what I have done previously.
My overall goal for this term is to do my very best

End of term Reflection
End of term Reflection
This term I have enjoyed doing leaning in the making and doing all of the cool activities. Other favourites of mine include IEs which is an inquiry you do individually, I like this so much because at every other school I have been to you have had to do it in a group and you always do something that doesn’t interest you unlike here where you can choose to do whatever you want. Open learning is a great thing too, you get to choose what you do and when you do it. At other schools I have been to you have had set learning, which gets very boring very quickly, with open learning there is always variety.
This term I have learnt that you have to experiment with you learning, find something you enjoy and do it instead of holding back
Something I would change would be my seriousness towards milestones, I never realised how important they were. Doing something differently for me would be to get to tuakana and do some milestones next term, they will be my long term goal.
Here is a word Art thing to describe this term—>

Pet Day Animal
Pet Snake
Today is pet day, we got to design a pet, I really want a pet snake so I made one. If I didn't live in New Zealand I would definitely have one. The snake is called Bob because he bobs his head up and down before he eats his prey. I got him from everseas and he eats basically anything that is living. He has long fangs and delivers a painful bite to anyone that annoys him. Here is my pet snake...

Volleyball Reflection
Volleyball Reflection
For the past few weeks we have been doing volleyball at HPC (The college down the road). We have done a few practice games earlier but this morning we did a tournament. There were eight teams with eight or nine people in each, we did a tournament going in a circle and facing each group, we won two of our games and lost the rest. In total we got nine points, one for a loss and three for a victory. We had a great time and it was awesome playing volleyball and it is a great team sport. I learnt about how to play volleyball and how working in a team is essential.

This week I did my gloss test and got an average score, I did volleyball and we won every game (The last team we went against cheated) I got a heap of bronzes on mangahigh and a silver. I still need to do my word of the week and since I haven’t managed my time well I will probably need to do it next week.Tuesday, September 5, 2017

New York lady leaves a fortune to cats!
A New York lady called Ellen Frey-Wouter has left $300000 of her $3 Million fortune to her cats, named Tiger and Troy. This comes as no surprise to her housekeeper who says that Ellen treats the cats like her babies. In my opinion, this is nuts, who leaves any money to a cat? What are they going to do with it? WHY? Doesn't she have any relatives she could give it to?

World's highest paid rugby player
Charles Pitau, a former All-Black, will very soon be the highest paid rugby player in the world! Pitau, a fullback, has signed a two year deal with an English club called Bristol, the contract lasts 2018 and 2019 and is for a staggering amount of $1.78 Million per year! I myself think that this is a major amount of money for one player and he must be pretty good at his job to get that amount. However I also think that is a pretty overkill amount.

8 Year old climbs Kilamanjaro
8 year old Roxy Getter has become the youngest girl to ever climb Kilimanjaro. Roxy and her family, including her 10 year old brother, from the USA climbed the mountain during their holiday in Tanzania. Sometimes I wonder why people do this, I think that many people would see climbing Kilimanjaro as fun, but I just see them as INSANE! I would definitely not climb Kilimanjaro

This week something that I improved on was my Spanish on DuoLingo, I got to a higher level and did a couple of lessons. Something that I achieved from my weekly goals was starting my language milestone, I am almost finished now. Something that I need to improve on is keeping focused sometimes and not messing around with my friends. My goal for next week is to complete my learning languages Milestone.

Two teenagers rescued from catacombs
Yesterday on the 19th of June two teenagers were rescued from the catacombs beneath Paris after getting lost. These catacombs are over 250 kilometres long but only 2 kilometres are open to the public, the teenagers were stuck in the tunnels for three days and no-one has ever been stuck in the 2 kilometres of the tunnel before and as well as having been stuck in there for so long they both had hypothermia. I think that they are kind of stupid seeing that no-one has ever got lost before and that they wouldn't have brought anything such as a phone to contact anyone.

Man Jailed for 35 years for Facebook posts
A man from Thailand was jailed for 35 years after insulting the Thai monarchy through Facebook. The law in Thailand states that you are not allowed to insult ultra-rich monarchy. The man got a jail time of ten years per offence, the original sentence was seventy years but was cut down after he confessed to posting the comments. This is one of the most serious punishments ever for insulting the Thai monarchy. Personally, I think that punishment was a bit harsh seeing that it was only a Facebook post. Does the Thai monarchy even know about it? If they did I'm sure that they would get him released, that is way too harsh as a punishment!
